Terms and Conditions

Credit Terms

Transient and new accounts, cash with order. All others at net 30 days. No cash discount. Account payable in Canadian funds. Interest at 2% per month charged on overdue accounts. All published prices are subject to GST.

Rate Changes

MCNA and member newspapers reserve the right to change rates upon 60 days notice. MCNA and member newspapers are not bound by any conditions appearing on contracts or copy instructions when such conflict with the provisions of member newspapers. Advertising at other than published rates will not be accepted. MCNA reserves the right to hold the advertiser and its advertising agency jointly and severally liable for such monies as are due and payable to the member newspapers.

Commission

15% will be paid to recognized agencies on the gross charges for space. Mechanical production and colour charges are billed net.

Cancellations

No cancellations accepted after deadline.

Advertising Content/Liability

All ads accepted subject to the approval of MCNA and its member newspapers who reserve the right to delete any words or phrases deemed by MCNA or a member newspaper to be objectionable, or to refuse to publish an advertisement. MCNA shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to any advertiser or third party resulting from the failure of an advertisement to appear in any or all of the member newspapers or from any error of omission in any advertisement which is published. Right reserved to place the word advertisement" over any paid announcement.

Advertiser and advertising agency assume liability for content (including text, representations and illustrations in advertisements printed) and also assume responsibility for any claims arising therefrom made against the member newspapers.

Member newspapers will not be responsible for reproduction of colour advertisements unless fully registered material is supplied.

Make-good insertion will not be granted on minor errors which do not affect the value of the whole advertisement. Member newspapers' liability will not exceed the cost of that area of the space occupied by the error, whether the error is due to the negligence of its servants or otherwise. There shall be no liability for non-insertion beyond the amount paid for such advertisement. No allowance for errors in key numbers.

Special Services

MCNA can provide artwork and other special services. Advertiser will be "billed at cost.

Rate Differences

From time to time discrepancies between MCNA's rates and individual newspaper's rate cards may appear.
